Septic Tank Upgrade Grants (Up to €12,000)

The Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage provides financial assistance to homeowners to upgrade defective domestic wastewater treatment systems. This grant covers up to 85% of the approved cost of repairs or replacements, capped at €12,000.

Grant Eligibility Criteria

• Registration: Your system must have been registered with the National Septic Tank Registration system prior to the designated deadline (typically 2013).
• Inspection Failure: You must have received an advisory notice from your local authority under the National Inspection Plan.
• High Status Water Catchment: Alternatively, you may be eligible if your property is located in a High Status Objective Catchment Area and causing a localized environmental threat.
